International Flights: Many European cities offer direct flights to Heraklion, especially during the summer months. Airlines such as Aegean Airlines, Ryanair, and EasyJet operate regular services.
From Athens: For guests traveling from outside Europe, connecting flights from Athens to Heraklion are frequent and take approximately 45 minutes. Check Aegean Airlines and Olympic Air for multiple daily flights.
Airport Transfers: Upon arrival, you can reach the city center or your hotel by taxi, rental car, or bus. The taxi stand is right outside the arrivals hall, and the journey to the city center takes about 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic.
By Sea
If you prefer an alternative route to Heraklion, the ferry is an good choice. Ferries to Heraklion depart from Piraeus port in Athens, offering both conventional and high-speed ferry services.
Travel Time: The journey can take anywhere from 6 to 9 hours, depending on the service you choose. High-speed ferries are faster but more expensive.
Ferry Companies: Minoan Lines and Anek Superfast are the main operators, offering daily services to and from Piraeus. Cabins are available for overnight journeys, and advanced booking is recommended, especially in peak season.
Arriving in Heraklion: The port is conveniently located close to the city center. Taxis and buses are available at the port to take you to your accommodation or directly to the wedding venue.
